Many people ask me,
"What exactly do you do?"
The simplest answer is that I am a hands-on osteopath.
For nearly three decades, I have dedicated my life to understanding the human organism through touch. Osteopathy provides the foundation of my work—not simply as a profession, but as a philosophy of listening.
My hands are not searching for dysfunction to fix.
They are listening for how each person's body has developed, adapted, and organized itself throughout a lifetime.
Every client arrives with a unique story written not only in memory, but in posture, movement, breath, connective tissue, circulation, and the nervous system. My role is not to impose change upon that story, but to understand it.
Over the years, my work has expanded to include Structural Integration, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, somatic therapy, neural and neurovascular approaches, trauma-informed care, and developmental neuroscience. Rather than seeing these as separate modalities, I view them as complementary perspectives that deepen my understanding of the same living organism.
Whether I am working with an infant, an elder, someone living with chronic pain, or an individual healing from developmental trauma, my approach remains the same.
I begin by listening.
Everything else follows from there.
ABOUT DR. KIRSTIE
I am Dr. Kirstie, a Doctor of Integrative Medicine and Manual Osteopathy, Board Certified Structural Integrator, Structural Yoga Therapist, educator, and author. For more than 30 years, I have devoted my life to the healing arts, beginning my clinical journey in 1996.
At the heart of my work is hands-on osteopathy—a philosophy that honors the body's inherent capacity for adaptation, self-organization, and healing. Over the years, my practice has evolved through the integration of osteopathy, structural integration, embryology, developmental systems theory, neuroscience, and trauma-informed care. Together, these perspectives have shaped what I now call Somatic Touch—a developmental systems approach to physical and psychosomatic trauma.
In 2024, after more than a decade of advanced osteopathic study with skilled mentors, I completed my Doctorate in Manual Osteopathy. My doctoral thesis, Trauma-Informed Osteopathic Approach: The Art of Listening, marked the beginning of a deeper exploration into how touch, relationship, and developmental biology inform the healing process.
Today, my work continues to explore the intersection of osteopathy, embryology, developmental neuroscience, and relational physiology. These ideas form the foundation of my forthcoming book, Somatic Touch: An Integrative Approach to Physical and Psychosomatic Trauma, where I invite practitioners to reconsider healing through the lens of living systems.
Whether I am treating a client, teaching students, or writing, my intention remains the same: to listen deeply, to honor the intelligence of the human organism, and to create the conditions in which health can emerge.
I made one intentional change that I think is important. Instead of leading with your credentials, I led with your identity. Your degrees establish your expertise, but your philosophy explains why someone would choose to learn from you or entrust you with their care. That subtle shift aligns beautifully with the body of work you've been developing.

EXPERIENCE
I consider myself a practitioner of Somatic Medicine, creating a safe space to dialogue with and access the soma (Greek for “body”). Through this process, we can “Rewyld” ourselves—returning to wholeness through integration of body, mind, and spirit.

My training lineage includes Manual Osteopathy along with Structural Integration, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Neural Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Somatic Movement. With more than 7,000 hours of continuing education and 30,000+ hours of teaching bodywork and movement in university settings, I bring both breadth and depth of experience to my practice.
I do not prescribe or promote the use of drugs, pharmacology, or vaccines, in keeping with the tenets of classic osteopathy. Instead, I believe that nature is the cure. By supporting the body’s innate wisdom across its circulatory, nervous, and fascial systems, we create the conditions for natural integration and healing.

I also identify as a neurocomplex, mixed-race person of Celtic, African, and Indigenous heritage, which informs my perspective and approach to healing.

The work Dr. Kirstie does require more than one session as it focuses on transformation and supporting the health in your system.
Dr. Kirstie sees clients on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (12:30 pm, 1:45 pm, 3:00 pm and 4:15 pm) as I teach at the university on other days. (Starting in November 2026 I will only see clients on Monday/Tuesday).

Prices are as follows:
Consult via phone for $50 for 15 minutes.

Regular session: Osteopathic manual therapy for $165 for 60 minutes ($150 for session fee plus taxes and fees).

Boutique session: If you would like more time for treatment and consultation, contact me to book. The fee is $335 ($300 session fee plus taxes and fees.

Children (0-12 yrs): Infants and children are seen on sliding scale for $50 for 30 minutes (parents must be present for treatment). This service is limited to once a month at this sliding scale price.
I offer discounts for teachers of $15 off as well as working with several elders with sliding scale. I currently not accepting new sliding scale clients due to high volume.
All fees include New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax.

Dr. Kirstie does not work with insurance and can offer a SuperBill for services upon request.
